The Zürich model from BIRKENSTOCK combines the stability of a closed shoe with the lightness of a sandal and is loved by both men and women alike. The model with closed sides allows enough air to pass to the feet thanks to the design with an opening in the heel and toes. The very soft suede upper material provides a natural design that adapts to the foot like a second skin.

Upper material: Suede
Suede is a “rough leather” with a sanded and scraped surface. Suede has a soft and velvety surface that provides a very pleasant sensation in contact with the skin. In addition, it has a great capacity for moisture absorption. Natural suede is softer and more flexible than smooth leather and does not have the same stability. Furthermore, its stability changes depending on each person's skin. This is not a material or manufacturing defect.
Inner sole: Upper layer of leather insole
Flexible and skin-friendly leather covering that accommodates the foot, adopting its shape and folding to its profile. The surface of the lining has a honeycomb structure, which makes it particularly breathable, thus enabling a pleasant environment inside the shoe even during intense physical activity.

Cork is a regenerable raw material that is extracted from the bark of the cork oak. It is a natural heat-insulating product and has excellent cushioning properties.
Contact sole: EVA
EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) is a high-quality plastic, endowed with particular lightness and elasticity, which also offers extremely good cushioning properties. In this way, it compensates for small irregularities in the floor and provides soft cushioning for steps when walking.
