Step into Wonder: The Italian Interiors of Elsa Peretti is a journey through two sumptuous homes by the late artist, whose designs completely transformed jewelry in the 20th century and still grace the world’s biggest stars today. Capturing the terracotta glow of these spaces, Estelle Hanania’s ethereal photography takes us into the wilds of Torre Avoltore, an imposing residence in Porto Ercole, and invites us to retreat to stately Rome, where Elsa grew up.

An introductory essay by long-time contributor Stefano Palumbo focuses on Elsa’s creative relationship with architect and designer Lorenzo Mongiardino, and a brief dispatch by photographer Dominique Nabokov closes the book with a recollection of her visit to the tower in 2001. Produced in close collaboration with the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation, Elsa Peretti’s Italian Interiors is the first book devoted exclusively to her interiors and homes in Italy, offering an insider’s look at spaces not open to the public. The Rome apartment, still filled with Elsa’s personal collection of clothes and artwork, was photographed the day before it was sold, so these images are the last to capture how she brought her artistic sensibility to her private world.
